Dalia Mubarak (Arabic: داليا مبارك; born March 2, 1991) is a Saudi Arabian singer, songwriter, and composer. She is known for her fusion of traditional Khaleeji musical styles with contemporary R&B and pop. She rose to fame in 2014 with her debut single, "Qalabt Al Tawla" (Arabic: قلبت الطاولة, lit. The Table Turned Upside Down), which gained wide popularity on YouTube and launched her into the Gulf music scene.
Early life and education
Dalia Mubarak was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She began singing at an early age, regularly performing at family gatherings and school events. Her early passion for music developed further when she participated in local operettas, including Sand Al Khair at age 14, which ignited her interest in pursuing a singing career.[1]
She was nominated to appear in the early seasons of Arabs Got Talent, but her father’s death prevented her from traveling to Beirut to participate. Years later, she enrolled in a music institute in Dubai to formally study the basics of music and performance.[1]
Career
In 2014, Mubarak released the single "Qalabt Al Tawla", composed by Emirati artist Fayez Al Saeed. The song became a major hit, receiving over eight million views on YouTube.[2] The success of the song led to a series of singles including:
- "Fi Nazrat Oyounk" (In the Glance of Your Eyes)
- "Ma'a Khalis Al-Ashwaq" (With All Longings)
- "Areen Al-Eshq" (The Den of Love)
- "Taj Al-Fakhr" (Crown of Pride)
- "Qadar Qadr" (Death of Destiny)
- "Faraq 'an Al-Nas" (A Difference Between People)
- "Bayni Baynak" (Between You)
In 2016, Mubarak signed with the Rotana music label and released her debut studio album, Min Al Akher (Arabic: من الآخر, lit. From the Other Side), which achieved commercial success throughout the Gulf region.[3]
In 2022, she signed with Warner Recorded Music, becoming one of the first Gulf-based artists to partner with a major international label.[4] Her style incorporates traditional Khaleeji instruments such as the duff, oud, mirwas, and tabl, alongside modern R&B and pop production. She has also released music in other dialects, including Egyptian Arabic.
In 2022, Mubarak appeared on the cover of Saudi Arabia’s edition of Vogue magazine and was honored as Best Saudi Arabian Artist at the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) held in Dubai.
Personal life
In February 2018, Dalia Mubarak married American businessman Alhim Starks. The couple has two daughters.
