D.S. Phelan was a pastor and theologian. He published one book "Christ The Preacher" Which aren't in print, but are evidently page by page photocopies. He also published a paper called "The limits of Freethinking" Source: The North American Review , Sep., 1883, Vol. 137, No. 322 (Sep., 1883), pp. 287- 295. DS Phelan was imprisoned for refusing the sign the ministry oath under the "Drake Constitution." He is mentioned for authoring news. He was the publisher of the "Western Watchman" - a periodical from 1840s to 1880's.
