Cytron Technologies is a local small business in Malaysia selling robotics parts and electronics components online. Founded in 2004 by five Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students whom previously very active in the ABU Robot Competition (ABU Robocon) [3].

The business started from a brick and mortar shop located in Skudai before they moved to Penang in 2013 with Surface-mount technology (SMT) facility to build own product.[4]

Product

Cytron build simple electronic circuit boards such as H-bridge Motor controller and Arduino compatible boards [5] for engineering school market. Their biggest attempt was a modular robotic system for the K–12 [6][7].

Initiative

Cytron started running a national level robotics and coding competition for the primary and secondary schools students from year 2016. Usually it will be held alongside with KL Engineering & Science Fair during the year end school holiday. [8] [9]

Cytron also organises annual educator conference to provide a platform for the teachers who teach coding and robotics in primary and secondary schools in Malaysia to meet, share experience and explore ideas of collaboration [10] [11]
