Cristina Țopescu (4 July 1960 – December 2019) was a Romanian journalist who was best known for working for Prima TV.

She was born on 4th July 1960, in Oradea, to Rodica and Cristian Țopescu.

During the 1970s, she appeared in several children's and youth television programs, but her early acting career ended after her family had fallen out of favor with Ceausescu's regime.[1]

She graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, of the University of Bucharest.

She was famous for her work on several Romanian TV Channels, including Antena 3 and Prima TV.

In April 2013, she entered politics standing for the PSD (Social Democratic Party).[2]

Cristina Țopescu was found dead in 12 January 2020, at age 59, in her residence on Otopeni.[3] The cause of death was attributed to natural causes, since she was found dead in her bed, as if asleep.[4]

TVR 1 programmed, "In memoriam Cristina Țopescu", a montage of shows by Titus Munteanu staring Țopescu.[5]
