Cornelia Livingston (born July 12, 1989),[1] known professionally as Cornelia Murr, is an American singer-songwriter. She released her debut studio album, Lake Tear of the Clouds, in July 2018. Her music has been described as "hazy, carefree, psych-folk"[2], and has been compared to artists such as Broadcast, Stereolab, and Beach House.[3]

Life and career

Born in London, she moved several times across the United States as a child, including upstate New York (state)|New York, where she drew inspiration for her debut album, named after Lake Tear of the Clouds in the Adirondack Mountains.[4] The album received acclaim for its dreamlike melodies and ethereal vocals, as well as its commentary on heavy topics.[5]

In 2021, she released a standalone single, Hang Yr Hat, inspired by French mime Marcel Marceau.[6]

In November 2022, she released the follow-up to Lake Tear, a 6-track self-produced EP, titled Corridor.[7] It received praise for its rich sound and choric tranquility, as well as its reflections on human Romanticism.[8]
