Constraint is an italian symphonic and progressive metal band formed in 2011.
History
Constraint formed in Modena in 2011[1], presenting and practicing on Nightwish, Evanescence ed Epica covers. In 2012 the band has begun a process of experimentation and research, with the first line-up changes: the band has started writing original songs, included in their first demo which was released in the same year, Illusion of a dream[2][3]. In 2016 Constraint released their first full-length album Enlightened by Darkness[4] via RockShots Records,[5] whose tracks are inspired by symphonic metal with folk influences and and which has gained positive reviews.[6][7] A distinguishing feature of the band is the singer Beatrice Bini, which gives an operatic flavour to the album.[8] In 2017 the band played many promotional gigs in Italy. The following year they started a line-up change process, adding also a violinist on a permanent basis and the composition of the new album, undertaking a new stylistic research, which focuses on more progressive sonorities.[9]. On 23 March 2020, the second album Tides of Entropy,[10] was released, characterized by a symphonic metal style with classical and progressive influences.[11][12][13][14]
