Conor Allyn is a director, screenwriter, and producer from Dallas, Texas.

Early career

He graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where he received his bachelor's degree in history, government, and screenwriting. After college, Allyn lived in Indonesia for three years where he wrote and directed the award-winning "Red & White" trilogy ("Merah Putih") about the Indonesian war of independence from the Dutch in the 1940s. The first film received strong reviews and won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress and First Place People's Choice Award at the Bali International Film Festival.[1] The film led to two sequels, "Blood of Eagles", and "Heart of Freedom."

Film

Conor directed modern western, "No Man's Land"[2] starring Frank Grillo, George Lopez and Andie MacDowell.[3] IFC released the film in the US in January 2021 on 260+ screens.[4] The film was #2 among box office new releases on opening weekend.[5] Prior to that, Conor directed Netflix original movie, "Walk. Ride. Rodeo," which was a true story of rodeo champion Amberley Snyder who staged an incredible comeback after being paralyzed in a car accident at the peak of her rodeo career.[6] Conor executive produced festival winner "I'm No Longer Here"(Yo No Estoy Aqui"); after Netflix acquired the film at Tribeca, it was short-listed for best foreign language feature to the 2021 Academy Awards.[7] In 2013, IFC Films released Allyn's action thriller "Java Heat" starring Kellan Lutz and Oscar-nominee Mickey Rourke.[8] Conor also produced Jonathan Rhys Meyers' starring biopic "Edge of the World" about Sir James Brooke, a British Adventurer who became king of Sarawak in the 1840s. Samuel Goldwyn Films released the picture in June of 2021.[9]

Televison

Conor has had pilot scripts optioned at Fox TV Studios, CBS Studios, and Constantin Films. Conor is also a writer-executive producer on a six-part anthology film series with A&E and the Lifetime Network based on the books of NYT best-selling true crime writer Ann Rule.

Margate House Films

Conor started production company Margate House Films in 2007.[10] The company's motto is "genre with purpose" and the brand focuses on commercial content that is intimate and reflective of relevant, real world issues.[11] Margate House Films discovers, creates, develops, packages, and executes on premium content from start to finish. The company has now made films and television on three continents, partnered with the biggest distributors in the streaming, studio, and indie space.

Family

Conor has been married to wife Geri Allyn since 2011 and the two have three kids, Aidan, Annabelle and Addison.
