Colin Klein is a philosopher and professor of Philosophy at Australian National University. He has published on philosophy of mind[1], philosophy of science[2], and social epistemology. He is also known for his interdisciplinary work on functional neuroimaging[3], pain perception[4], and consciousness. He is a founding member of the Australasian Society for Philosophy and Psychology,[5] as well as an editor for the journal Ergo.[6] What the Body Commands, his book on pain perception, has been awarded the international David Harold Tribe Philosophy Prize,[7] and has been favorably reviewed in multiple academic venues.[8][9] In addition, his research on insect cognition[10] and human acceptance of conspiracy theories[11] [12] [13] have been featured in major international media.
Career
Klein received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University in 2007. From 2006 to 2013, he was affiliated with the philosophy department of University Illinois-Chicago. From 2014 to 2018, he was affiliated with the philosophy department of Macquarie University. He moved to Australian National University in 2018 and was promoted to full professor in 2020.[14]

Klein has collaborated on academic publications with other philosophers and scientists, including David Kaplan, David Kaplan[15], and Mark Alfano[16].
