Codqui is a small village of 289 hectares in Satari Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Codqui depends on VALPOI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Codqui is also near by One lake. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Codqui's pin code is 403506[5], and village code is 00016700. The area of Codqui is segregated as 14.6 hectares irrigated area, 215.59 hectares unirrigated, the 23.41 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 34.91 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Codqui has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics

Codqui is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 929 and has total administration over 204 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 151 (16.25%) males constitute 80 (8.61%) of the population and females 71 (7.64%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of VALPOI and North Goa to sell river sand and make their living.
