Codar is a small village of 972 hectares in Ponda Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Codar depends on CURTI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Codar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Codar's pin code is 403406[5], and village code is 00020800. The area of Codar is segregated as 11.57 hectares irrigated area, 307 hectares unirrigated, the 292.71 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 270.5 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Codar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Codar is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 733 and has total administration over 172 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of CURTI and North Goa to sell coconuts and make their living.
