Clive "Rubber Man" Clarke is a British dancer, choreographer and actor, known for his work in the UK disco dancing scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s,[1] winning the UK disco dancing and freestyle championship in 1981,[2] and for his appearances as a professional dancer on ITV's The Hitman and Her and the BBC's Top of the Pops between 1981 and 1983.[2]
He is most widely recognised for playing the bartender in the music video for Rick Astley's 1987 international hit single Never Gonna Give You Up,[3] which later became central to the Rickrolling Internet meme.
In addition to on‑screen performances, Clarke worked as a choreographer on numerous music videos, television shows, and commercials during the late 1980s and 1990s.[1] His credits include work for artists such as Black Box, Joyce Sims, Des'ree, Rozalla, and Public Enemy.[1]
