Clemens Krauss (born 1981) is an Austrian visual artist. He lives and works in Berlin, Germany.

Personal Life

After successfully completing his medical studies in Graz, Clemens Krauss studied Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Various scholarships and exhibition projects led to extended stays in Brazil, China, Japan, and Australia. In addition, Clemens Krauss works as a psychoanalyst.[1]

Art

Clemens Krauss’ preferred media are paintings, installations and videos, with the "central idea" being "the reflection and artistic examination of the objective of the human body of today."[2]

In his paintings - typically showing thick layers of paint - as well as in his sculptural and video works, Clemens Krauss repeatedly explores social issues, putting them into focus. "The bond connecting his works is the question of what defines human identity."[3]
