Clarisse Karasira is a Rwandan singer, creative writer, cultural dancer, musical artist, poet, media personality and a humanitarian.[1][2]
Early life
Clarisse was born and raised in Masaka,Kigali But now she living in United States.[3]
Career
Clarisse began her career as a storyteller when she was 17 years old on Flash FM. She became a newscaster with her focus on issues concerning children. In 2018, she changed from journalism to making traditional music.[4]
Award and nomination
In 2021, she won an award by Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy for being the best artiste in the promotion of Rwandan culture.[5] In 2019, she was nominated in the Best Culture and Traditional Artiste category in Salax Awards.[2]
Personal life
Clarisse is the daughter of a pastor and her mother directs the choir in the church and she has three brothers.[4] She is married to American-Rwandan Sylvain de Joie Ifashabayo who is the CEO of Clarisse Karasira Limited. They were engaged in January 2021 and got married in May 2021 in Kigali.[6]
