Claire Dodgson, A.C.E., is a British-American film editor, best known for her work on major animated feature films, predominantly for the studio Illumination, as her feature editing credits include The Lorax (2012), Minions (2015), Despicable Me 3 (2017), and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022). Despite editing, she is set to direct her first original film at the studio, Not Alone, on April 2027.[3]

Early life and career

Dodgson is an alumna of the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in the United Kingdom, where she studied film editing.[1] She began her career in editorial departments, contributing to the stop-motion film Corpse Bride (2005) and Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009).[4] She also gained experience in television as a lead editor on the BAFTA-winning children's animated series Charlie and Lola (2006–07).

She is an elected member of the honorary society American Cinema Editors (ACE).[5] In 2018, she was nominated for the ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited Animated Feature Film for her work on Despicable Me 3.[2]

She is later set to direct a original animated film at Illumination, Not Alone, with Eric Guillon and Jonathan del Val, as it is scheduled to be release on April 2027.[3]
