Christopher Allen Wehkamp (born February 25, 1979[1]) is an American voice, stage and screen actor and ADR Director best known for his work in anime and video games.[2]

Christopher has starred in many popular anime, most notably as Shota Aizawa/Eraser Head in My Hero Academia[3], Miles Edgeworth in Ace Attorney[4], Bebin in Ranking of Kings[5], Tatara in Tokyo Ghoul[6], and Takehisa Hinawa in Fire Force[7]. Christopher has additionally voiced in many popular animation and video game franchises, including Katagawa Jr. in Borderlands 3,[8][9] Clover Ebi in RWBY[10], Dialdo in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[11], Trickster Loki in SMITE,[12] and Archon in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands,[13] among others.

Christopher's ADR Voice Director credits include titles such as My Hero Academia, Fire Force, My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero, No Guns Life, Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside, and SK8 the Infinity.[14]

Christopher has appeared as a celebrity guest for numerous anime and comic conventions since 2017, giving interviews[15], speaking on panels[16] and signing autographs for fans across the United States and Canada.[17]

Early Life

Christopher was born in Marietta, Georgia, USA in 1979,[18] though he considers himself a native Texan, having arrived in Dallas at the age of 3. Christopher attended The University of North Texas, where he studied theatre and media arts, and graduated in 2005.[19]

Career

Christopher became an anime fan during college[20] and began voice acting for anime at FUNimation in 2012.[21] He came to anime voice acting in his thirties, having previously worked in the corporate sector.

Christopher is affiliated with companies such as Square Enix, Funimation Entertainment, Gearbox Software, Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Crunchyroll, Sentai Filmworks and has additionally voiced for international brand names such as Carl's Jr, Pizza Hut, Marriot, and Samsung, as well as audiobooks.[22] Christopher has been nominated for various BVTA Anime Dub Voice Acting Awards, including Breakthrough Voice Actor of the Year in 2015 and Voice Actor of the Year in 2018.[23]
