Christopher Killick is a British convicted sex offender, running for election as a Independent Politician in Hartlepool (UK Parliament constituency) on the 2021 Hartlepool by-election|6 May by-election, 2021.

Early life

Killick grew up in London, studied international relations at the University of Sussex and worked as a shop sales assistant.[1]

Criminal conviction

Killick filmed a 62-second clip of naked woman in her hotel room while she was unconscious in 2015; she said she woke up to Killick not knowing who he was or how she arrived in the hotel, and said that she was Drug-facilitated sexual assault|drugged and raped.[2][3][4]

Although the Crown Prosecution Service initially claimed Killick's actions were not illegal, he was arrested in 2020 for his crimes. He was given a 30-month community order, fined £2,000 for illegal voyeurism, was put on the sex offenders register until September 2025 and ordered to pay £5,000 in compensation following a campaign by the woman.[2][3][4]

Political career

Hartlepool Mail noted Killick's intention to run in Hartlepool (UK Parliament constituency)|Hartlepool's 2021 Hartlepool by-election|6 May by-election in April 2021, noting his intention to set up and lead a political party which would focus on "every part" of the country and to "improve political discourse, trust and participation".[1]

He did not reveal his criminal conviction before running "to make it simpler or easier for me", he said.[5] He was later "kicked out" from his Airbnb lodgings for failing to disclose that he was a sex offender.[6]
