Christine Huber is an American sports analyst, retired professional tackle football player, semi-pro soccer player, and former NCAA soccer and basketball coach, known for her work with the National Women's Soccer League, USL Super League, and NCAA athletics.
Early Life and Education
Christine Huber attended the University of New Haven, where she excelled in both basketball and soccer.[1] She earned her bachelor's degree in management of sports industries from UNH in 2000 and later obtained an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.[2]
Playing Career
At the University of New Haven, Huber was a standout two-sport athlete. In basketball, she was a three-time all-conference selection and currently ranks eighth in career scoring with 1,453 points and tenth in career rebounding with 764 rebounds. She played in 107 games, averaging 13.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. In soccer, she currently ranks 2nd in career goals with 63, and 2nd in career points with 144. [1] She was inducted into the University of New Haven Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008 for her achievements in both sports.[1]
In high school, she was a member of the 1994–95 Cony High School girls basketball team, which was later inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame.[3]
Coaching Career
Huber transitioned into coaching after her playing career. She served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball teams at several institutions:
- University of New Haven: Volunteer assistant coach for five seasons.[4]
- Southern New Hampshire University: Assistant coach.[5]
- Colby College: Assistant coach.[6]
Broadcasting and Analyst Work
Huber is a lead sports analyst covering professional and collegiate soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She has worked with networks including ESPN, NESN, Paramount+, and Peacock, providing expert commentary for competitions such as the NWSL, USL Super League, and NCAA athletics.[7]
Current Role
In addition to her broadcasting work, Huber serves as the General Manager of CFC Arena in Hamden, Connecticut.[8] She is also the President of American Outlaws New Haven.[9]
