Chris McClenney, professionally known as "McClenney", is an artist, producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, with a focus on forward-thinking, alt-leaning projects. He carefully architects elements of his vision while preserving the personal integrity and authenticity of artists he collaborates with in studio.
Maryland-born and Los Angeles-based, McClenney’s unique musical perspective has solidified a pathway to lend his talent as not only a co-executive producer, but also a producer, songwriter, instrumentalist, backing vocalist and tracking/mixing engineer to a plethora of multigenre artists.
McClenney was an instrumental contributor to Khalid’s Diamond-certified debut single as a co-writer and co-producer, which earned him a GRAMMY® nomination in 2018 for Best R&B song. His musical fingerprints can also be found on GRAMMY® Award winning albums from H.E.R (2019) and Black Coffee (2022). McClenney has also worked as a producer and co-writer for artists as diverse as Joey Bada$$, Westside Boogie, Jamila Woods, Umi, Fana Hues, Mereba, Smino, Wale, Xavier Omar, The Chainsmokers, Flatbush Zombies, Masego, CHIKA, Kyle Dion and DRAM.
With support and mentorship from industry luminaries, Quincy Jones and Om’mas Keith, McClenney is poised to carry the torch in a lineage of ground-breaking, avant-garde producers.
