Chris Jandric is an ice hockey defenceman for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. He is a former first team All-NCHC member as part of the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Jandric signed a two-year contract on March 27, 2023, with a tryout for the remainder of the 2022-23 AHL season. Jandric made his AHL debut on April 8, 2023, and was credited with an assist in his first game.[1][2]

Playing Career

From 2014-2016, Jandric played junior hockey for the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Hockey Major Midget League, a U18 league in Prince George. He was the teammate of his brother Steven and future NHL forward Dylan Cozens. After his time in juniors, he spent time with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League before committing to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He made the WHCA All-Rookie team[3] and appeared in 63 games for the school before transferring to the University of North Dakota. He would appear in 77 games over two seasons for the Fighting Hawks, tallying 5 goals and 48 points during his time there. On March 27th, 2023, Jandric was signed to a two year contract by the Rochester Americans of the AHL, with a professional tryout for the remainder of the 2022-23 season. In his AHL debut, he recorded an assist.

Personal Life

Chris is the younger brother of Steven Jandric, who also plays in the AHL for the Springfield Thunderbirds.[4] While at UAF, he was majoring in criminology, and while at UND he was working on a graduate degree in public administration.
