Chino Moya [1]is a London-based artist from Spain. He has also developed his career as a visual artist exhibiting in galleries such as Pocko Gallery in London or the Colección SOLO museum in Madrid.

Film career

Upon moving to London in the mid-2000s, Moya worked in various capacities, including creating commercials for international brands. He has received several industry accolades, such as a Cannes Lion Bronze Award. His music video, Digital Witness for St Vincent[3], earned a spot on Rolling Stone's list of the top 10 music videos in 2014. Moya's debut feature film, Underdogs, was released in 2020 and premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montréal, Canada. The film had its UK release in 2021 and was featured at the Glasgow Film Festival.

Undergods received international media attention[4], appearing in Variety and The New York Times. It was also selected as Film of the Week'by The Observer critic, Mark Kermode.

Artistic career

Moya's work in the visual arts often deals with dystopian themes, which manifest through photography and installations. His photographic series, Monosodium Glutamate, showcases white, middle-aged men in semi-abandoned spaces. The series was displayed in a solo exhibition at Pocko Gallery in London in 2022[5]. Additionally, Moya has explored transmedia art through his project, Deemona,[6][7] which has been exhibited at Espacio SOLO Madrid and was part of the MMMad Digital Art Festival in 2022. [8]

Exhibitons

In 2022, Moya participated in the DongGang International Photo Festival in Seoul in 2022[9] and in 2023 he held her first solo exhibition in London at Pocko Gallery. His installation work Deemona was featured in the group exhibition Certeza[10][11] [12]at Espacio SOLO, a museum part of the Colección SOLO in Madrid (Spain) in 2022.

By working across multiple mediums and platforms, Moya continues to challenge societal norms and provoke thought around the destructive aspects of contemporary life.
