Chiknas is a small village of 224 hectares in Degana Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chiknas depends on Merta City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chiknas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Chiknas's pin code is 341514[4], and village code is 01855300. The area of Chiknas is segregated as 211.47 hectares unirrigated, the 12.1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Merta City and Nagaur to sell lather shoes and make their living.
