Chaurau is a small village of 3071 hectares in Sayla Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chaurau depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 929.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chaurau is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chaurau's pin code is 343022[4], and village code is 02273700. The area of Chaurau is segregated as 1959 hectares irrigated area, 345 hectares unirrigated, the 512 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 246 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell shoes and make their living.
