Charlotte Sands (born August 9, 1996) is an American singer-songwriter. She is most notably known for her breakout single[1] Dress, which originally went viral on TikTok in November of 2020.

Early life[2]

Sands was born on August 9, 1996 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Her mother was an aspiring actress and her father was a musician. She stated that her parents "never halted [her] creativity and told [her] to have realistic goals." She notes Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Alanis Morissette, We the Kings, Mayday Parade, and The Maine as early inspirations. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee after graduating high school.

Career

Sands began releasing music in 2018 with her debut single Phantom Pain. Following her debut single, she released other standalone singles, I Love You, But, Life of the Party, Happy Together, as well as collaborative tracks I Don't Care with James Droll and Something We Can Dance To with Sammy Arriaga and Ollie Joseph.

Following the release and success of Dress, Sands released her debut EP Special on February 26, 2021. The EP includes previously released material as well as an additional title track.[3]

Sands continued releasing singles throughout 2021, Bad Day, All My Friends Are Falling in Love, Every Guy Ever, and Keep Me Up All Night. Sands released her sophomore EP Love and Other Lies[4] on January 21, 2022 which included her 2021 singles, Dress, and two additional tracks, Want You Like That and the title track. She promoted the EP as a supporting act on Yungblud's Life On Mars 2022 North American tour,[5] The Maine's XOXO tour,[6] and her debut headline tour[7] named after the project.

Throughout 2022 and early 2023, Sands released more singles which include Loved You a Little with The Maine and Taking Back Sunday, Lost, Out of My Head featuring Aaron Gillespie, Rollercoaster, Tantrum, SEXOXO with Mod Sun, Alright, and Six Feet Under.

Sands released her third EP Good Now[8] on July 12, 2023. The EP featured select singles released in the prior months and two additional songs, the title track and Lovesick.

Sands performed as a supporting act on The Band Camino's Screaming in the Dark North American tour and 5 Seconds of Summer's The 5SOS Show European tour in September and October of 2023.

On September 13, 2023, Sands released use me[9] as the lead single from her upcoming debut album can we start over? set for release in January of 2024.
