Charlie Pelaez (José Carlos Peláez Lazo, born July 21, 1988) is a DJ and multi-instrumentalist music producer and film score composer from Mexico. He has released music on Sony Music[1] and Warner Music[2][3], made music for TV commercials at Televisa national TV, film scored many films and videogames, and also performed as a DJ on Electric Daisy Carnival[4] 2019 and 2020 and Formula 1[5], this last under his alias Charlie Atom for pop and electronic music.

Charlie Pelaez started playing the piano and composing when he was a child. He used to do multitrack recording using two cassette recorders and his keyboard at that time. He learned to play guitar, bass guitar and drums before he was 15 years old, and also learned to use audio software to produce rock songs. He studied at Bellas Artes School at Veracruz at 1997, then started making rock and pop songs. After this he started his career as a music producer in electronic music and pop as Charlie Atom.

After this he studied music composition at Fermata and DJ and Music Production at G'Martell. After a successful career as a DJ and electronic music producer, Charlie starts to pivot to film score music composition. Making some commercials for national TV for Conair, Drake & Josh and later nVidia.
