Charlie Parker's self-titled album was released in 1954 for Clef Records and recorded in Fulton Recording Studio in New York City. The record incorporates sounds of bebop and cool jazz. It features Charlie Parker himself on the alto saxophone, Max Roach on the drums, Percy Heath on bass for side A, Teddy Kotick on bass for side B, Al Haig on piano for side A, and Hank Jones on piano for side B. It is entirely instrumental and recorded in two sessions, the first being for side B on December 30, 1952 and the second being almost exactly seven months later on July 28, 1953. This album's presence on the internet is mysterious and elusive, the most one can learn about it is listening and experiencing it.
