Channa Rai is a Indian actor, writer, cinematographer and director[1]. He graduated from Chandigarh University with a diploma in film making. He has directed the Punjabi films Daastan-E-Sultanpur Lodhi and The Half Ticket.

Personal Life

He was born in a small village Mangupur, Kapurthala district, in Punjab. His father is Bhagwan Singh and mother is Piaro. He has one elder brother and three sisters.

Career

He started as an actor in 2012. His first director was Toni, after which he struggled to make headway in the industry. He studied event management for a while, then production and after that a long stint in directing. The first film that brought him recognition was The Half Ticket, which was nominated for Best Director at Pune Film Festival-2018.

He has also made music videos, produced films, and produced and directed, stories and storyboards.
