Chandru Selvaraj (born 31st July 1992) is an Indian cinematographer. He has worked predominantly in films in Indian Languages such as Malayalam and Tamil. Recognized for his strong sense of detail, Chandru Selvaraj began his career in the Malayalam film industry with the film, “Ahar[1]’ which earned him the “Kerala State Film Award for Best Cinematographer[2]” in 2021.

Early Life

Chandru Selvaraj was born in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. After completing his BE in Computer Science Engineering at the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai he followed his passion for cinematography.

Career

He started his career by assisting cinematographer S.Tirru in films such as 24(2016), Janatha Garage(2016), and Vanamagan(2017). In his debut film as a cinematographer,


  • Ahar(2020), Chandru Selvaraj won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Cinematographer([3]2021).
