Chance Peña (born February 18, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter from Tyler, Texas. He has released two albums: Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming (2024) and When I Change My Mind I Don't Mean It (2025).[1]

Career

Early Life

Peña grew up listening to music that had been downloaded onto his father's iPod, such as Coldplay, Gun N' Roses and Eminem. He then wrote his first song at eleven years old. He was always drawn to folk, especially The Lumineers, who he eventually opened for during their fall 2024 arena tour.[2][3]

2015-Present

In 2015, at the age of 15, Peña became a contestant on season 9 of NBC’s The Voice For his Blind Audition. At 17, Peña began his professional songwriting career and gained his first breakthrough when his song 'Up, Up & Away' was used in the 2019 movie, 'Five Feet Apart'. [2][3]

Peña co-wrote for other artists such as John Legend's lead song 'Conversations in the Dark' which was nominated for a Grammy. He opened for David Kushner in 2023, leading to his 2024 headlining tour selling out in the US and UK. His breakthrough came after releasing 'I am not who I was' which made it to 'Billboard’s Hot Alternative' and 'Hot Rock Charts' . By the time Peña released his debut album Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming in 2024, he had toured the US, UK, and Europe. He also opened for Tom Odell in 2025.[2][3][4]
