Chamu is a small village of 611.6 hectares in Bara Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chamu depends on Shankargarh (NP, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sourcesOne canal. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Chamu's pin code is 212106[4], and village code is 05494500. The area of Chamu is segregated as 512.325 hectares irrigated area, the 2.085 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 97.15 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chamu has One post office (Jari Bazar S.O) and One public telephone. Chamu has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Chamu is a census village in the district of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 2686 and has total administration over 460 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Shankargarh (NP and Allahabad to sell carpet and make their living.
