Chalk & Blade is an award-winning podcast company producing original audio content for brands like BBC Sounds.[1], Net-A-Porter[2], UNHCR[3], and Audible[4].
History
Chalk & Blade was founded in 2015 by Creative Director duo Ruth Barnes[5] and Laura Sheeter. Ruth Barnes is a presenter and producer who's written and hosted documentaries for BBC national radio stations. Laura Sheeter spent ten years reporting for the BBC from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and the USA. In 2019, eCommerce and retail expert Helen Parker came on board as Business Director while MBE George Perrin joined as the company’s Development Consultant for Drama.

Awards
2018
In 2018, UNHCR podcast Awake At Night won Silver for Best Branded Content at the British Podcast Awards[6]. The award-winning series shared the experiences of UNHCR ambassadors from the frontlines.
2019
In 2019, the BBC Sounds Obsessed With... series, produced by Chalk & Blade, tied with HBO's[7] Chernobyl podcast as best TV Companion Podcast. Chalk & Blade was also nominated for Production Company of the Year at the 2019 Audio Production Awards[8]
2020
In 2020, Pushkin Industries[9] partnership series, Food Actually won Silver at the British Podcast Awards in the Smartest Podcast category[10]. The same year, the BBC Sounds companion series Obsessed With… received recognition as an Honoree at The Webby Awards[11].
