Chad Oliver Price is a Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist. He has released three studio albums to date; In This Dream released in 2012, his self-titled album Chad Price released in 2017, and Introversion released in 2022[1]. Price's music has been described as a blend of Soul music, Contemporary R&B, Pop music, and Folk music.[2] Price was born in London, Ontario.
Early life
Price was born in London, Ontario as the youngest of three boys.[3] He comes from a multiracial background of predominantly Black Canadian and African Americans descent[4].
Influences
Price's musical influences include John Mayer, D'Angelo, Norah Jones, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Feist (singer), Erykah Badu, Nick Drake, James Morrison (singer), Bill Withers, and James Taylor [5].
Career
Price has released three full length studio albums, In This Dream (2012, self-released), the self-titled Chad Price (2017, self-released), and Introversion (2022, self-released) [6]. He has also won and been nominated for several music awards and was named the winner of CBC Music's 2022 Toyota CBC Searchlight Prize [7].
Live Performances
Price has shared the stage with Walk off the Earth, Lights (musician), Donovan Woods (musician), JP Saxe, Kardinal Offishall[8], Odario Williams, The Strumbellas[9], Tyler Shaw, Virginia to Vegas[10], Jocelyn Alice, Justin Nozuka, Savannah Ré, AHI (musician), and many others to date. He has been invited to play festivals, venues, and major events such as Juno Award[11], Festival d'été de Québec|Festival d'été de Québec (FEQ), Massey Hall, Music Matters Live, Rogers Cup|Roger's Cup, Allan Slaight Juno Masterclass, and CBC Television|CBC's New Year's Eve: Countdown to 2023 [12]. Price has performed in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom|UK, and Singapore.
