Chōsokabe Kanetsugu (長宗我部兼序, ? - 1508) was a warlord during Japan's Muromachi period. He was the 19th leader of the Chōsokabe clan (Tosa Province, present-day Kōchi Prefecture, Shikoku)
Death
In 1508, an alliance of Daimyo commanded by the Motoyama Clan went to Okō Castle, it's aim was to destroy the Chōsokabe clan. Kanetsugu won the first battle, but was then drawn into a siege. This went on for sometime before Kanetsugu committed seppuku. Shortly before he killed himself, he saved his four-year-old son, Chōsokabe Kunichika, who went to the Ichijō family.[1]
