Early life and education

Cesar was born on May 4, 1988, in Baku to Sakit Mammadov and Aybeniz Mammadova.

He graduated from Azim Azimzade Art School in 2006. Soon after completing high school, Cesar enrolled in the Azerbaijani Academy of Fine Art, where he studied till 2012. Later, in 2017, Cesar went to the European Academy of Sciences, where he did a special diploma course.

Career

Cesar started his professional career in 2004 when his work began exhibiting in galleries. His work explores the relationship between material and spiritual aspects of daily life. He depicts his perspective of nature and common everyday places and things in order to capture moments that will never return. Cesar tries to encapsulate mistakes, indulgences, joy, and sorrow on the canvas so that history may save it for future generations. Cesar aims to increase awareness and the importance of the present via his art.[3]

Artistic style

Cesar’s artistic style is reflective of his perception of how he views the daily wonders of the world. He focuses on bringing out the muted background nuances with bright colors and doing a romantic glorification of the beauty of nature. Cesar’s still life paintings and portraits are a culmination of confident strokes, unexpected contrasts, and a reflection of the smallest details of life. In order to create an honest depiction of the landscape, Cesar tries to incorporate a huge variety of mood tones with a minimum of color shades that rightfully portray the subject of his paintings.[4]

A handful of Cesar’s works that are either authenticated or attributed to him have been regarded as among the great masterpieces such as his portrait of Queen Elizabeth. Cesar incorporates innovative techniques that highlight his detailed knowledge of landscape and portrait paintings, capturing figurative composition of places and people. Cesar’s work is a representation of his personal vision combined with optimal use of color, brushstrokes, inventive perspectives, colors, contours, and designs.[5]
