CENTRAL BRASS, also known as Central Brass, is an American company that manufactures commercial: kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, laundry faucets, drinking faucets, bar faucets, lawn faucets, glass fillers, and showerheads. The company was founded in 1895 in Cleveland, Ohio. On July 12, 2006, Pioneer Industries applied for the world mark CENTRAL BRASS under the name Pioneer Commercial Manufacturing, Inc. and The Central Brass Manufacturing Company.[1] Pioneer Industries is based in Commmerce, California. The purchase of Central Brass, also known previously as Central Brass Co, allowed the residential faucet and fixture manufacturer to expand into the commercial market.[2]

In 1929, CENTRAL BRASS, at that time known as The Central Brass Manufacturing Company, won a lawsuit brought about by competitor Republic Brass Manufacturing Company. The case was heard in Ohio's Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The suit alleged one of Central Brass' hot and cold water diverters infringed on Republic Brass' patent. The diverter was key to the novel ability to hide pipes in a bathroom wall while overcoming the problem of wall plaster disintegration due to moisture.[3]
