Carolyn Nabarro, also known as Carolyn Denmark, (born in 1957) is a British presenter. She is Deaf and a British Sign Language user.

Activity

Nabarro works as a freelance presenter. She is best known for her appearances on BBC’s deaf magazine See Hear, as a TV interpreter for ITV West, and in several programmes for BSLBT, for example ‘Under The Lamp’. She often appears to translate information into British Sign Language on informative videos for charities and government bodies.[1]

She also had a small acting role in the BBC deaf drama ‘Switch’ as Angela. Nabarro worked for Voluntary Service Overseas and the British Council in Nepal, being involved in projects aimed at developing deaf communities.[2]

Nabarro has also worked as coordinator for interpreting and sign language training for organisations such as Remark!, and she worked as a liaison coordinator for the British Sign Language Corpus Project, a research project aimed at creating a corpus linguistics of British Sign Language.[3]

Personal life

Nabarro comes from a six-generation deaf family. She is married to Clark Denmark.
