Caroline Welles was born on November 21st, 1989. She grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts, and attended Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, Connecticut, where she served on the Alumnae Board.[1] She studied Sociology at the University of Edinburgh before returning to the United States to work in politics.

Career

Welles worked on the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016, living in Iowa, Colorado, and Washington.[2] She went on to spend over six and a half years at the Democratic National Committee with a brief interlude as a Political Appointee at the U.S. Department of Interior during the Biden Administration. [3]

Welles reestablished The First Ask in 2023, a 527 Political Action Committee that encourages pro-choice, Democratic women to run for state legislature. The First Ask is supporting nine women candidates in the 2024 election cycle, as of February 2023. Welles serves as the Executive Director.[4]

Personal life

Caroline and her husband, Harrison Hart, were married in 2023 and live in Washington, DC.[5] They have a Bernedoodle named Haggis and a cat named Ceilidh.
