She has also composed music for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Skins (British TV series), Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996 TV series), and Teen Titans Go!.

Life and career

Patullo was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Italian immigrants; [3] her father is a chef, and her mother was a hair dresser who opened her own salon after immigrating to America. Neither of her parents graduated from high school, but her mother worked and encouraged Patullo to go to college where she could study music, Patullo's lifelong passion. [4] Patullo studied in Boston at Berklee College of Music.

In 2011, Patullo performed at The Town Hall (New York City) in New York as musical director for Sandra Bernhard [5].

Patullo has released four studio albums under the name White Widow. In 2012, Patullo released her first soundtrack-inspired album A Psychological Thriller [6], which she performed live to a synced animation by artists Electric Wonder.

In 2018 Patullo and Elizabeth Beech codirected the short documentary film Lotte that Silhouette Girl, about animation pioneer Lotte Reiniger. [7] The film, which premiered at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, was a contender for Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) in 2018. [8] Patullo and Beech were later invited to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to speak about Reiniger's life and work with animation historian Mindy Johnson. [9]

Film scoring

Patullo's first film composition was for the 2014 documentary Letter to Anita about activist Ronni Sanlo's life. In the following years, she composed scores to the documentaries Clambake, LA: A Queer History, and This is Jessica, the short films My Name is Maria de Jesus, Choke, Finjan, and Ara, Untamed. In 2018, she was one of eight composers invited to the Sundance Institute Composers Lab [10] , wher she was chosen to score the SXSW horror-comedy Porno (film). After Fangoria Films released the movie in 2019, Lakeshore Entertainment released the official soundtrack album in 2020. [11]

Influences for Patullo's sound and style include PJ Harvey, Laurie Anderson, Ennio Morricone, and Italian folk music. [12]
