Captain Manicorn is an American adventure reality TV series created in 2019 by Jamie Leibert and Sandra Zinovyev. The series comprises episodes that document the entire process of the couple flying a parachute in every country of the world as an attempt to create a world record. The show premiered in June 2020 on Facebook and has released a total of 18 episodes since then.[1]
The idea of creating Captain Manicorn was conceived during the COVID-19 Pandemic when the founders Jamie Leibert and Sandra Zinovyev lost their event-based business. This resulted in them pursuing their dream of flying a parachute in every country and documenting the adventurous journey.[2]
Background
The general format of each episode is the premise that the team members Jamie Leibert (Captain Manicorn) and Sandra Zinovyev (Captain Ladycorn) and their pet dog Freedom (The Flying Freedom) embark on an adventurous journey overcoming impossible obstacles, risk severe injuries, and push every limit in order to fulfill their dream of being the first man and woman to fly a parachute in every country of the world.[3]
There are mostly wild terrains – jungles, forests, or similar non-urban areas, where the team sets camp and documents their journey. Apart from the series episodes, Captain Manicorn also has several weekly updates on their Facebook channel.[4]
