Capao is a small village of 130 hectares in Tiswadi Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Capao depends on PANAJI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Capao is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Capao's pin code is 403106[5], and village code is 00006300. The area of Capao is segregated as 39.74 hectares unirrigated, the 0.39 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 90.2 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Capao is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 135 and has total administration over 37 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PANAJI and North Goa to sell fish and make their living.
