Canon Herring (born March 18, 2004) is an American film composer, music producer and multi-instrumentalist. He has scored films such as GYC: The Movement(2022), Lila Luzi (2022), Cilantro (2022), as well as commercials for organizations like Christus Trinity Health, Lightbox Collective, and Sōma Church.
Early life and career
Herring was born in Tyler, Tx. He is from a musical family; his father played the guitar and many other instruments. His mother played the piano in her youth. Herring started studying music as a child, taking piano lessons from his father at the age of six. He took classical piano lessons for a short time, then later continued learning by ear. After developing a passion for music, Herring began learning many other instruments such as the drums, guitar, bass, flute and cello. In 2018, Herring composed his first classical piano album for a local business fair[1]. Wanting to further pursue music, He started composing and producing for different films and organizations, as well as his unattached original compositions. In 2022, Herring was the composer and producer for the film GYC: The Movement. That same year he composed and produced two projects with the company Boxlapse for the films, Lila Luzi[2] and Cilantro[3]
