Cam Haffner is a basketball player (born March 15, 2003 in Westfield, Indiana). He is a 6'2" (1.88 meters) 180 pounds (82 kilograms) point guard who plays for the University of Evansville. He won Freshman of the Year for the Ohio Valley Conference[1] where he averaged 7.5 points a game.

Early Life

Cam Haffner was born in Westfield, Indiana on March 15, 2003 to Scott Haffner and Kris Hamilton. His father was a retired NBA player who averaged 4.6 points for the Miami Heat in his rookie season.

High School

Haffner played for the Westfield High School Shamrocks under head coach Shane Sumpter. Haffner averaged 16.5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists a game for the Shamrocks.[2] Haffner was selected to the Indianapolis Star All Super-Team. He led the Westfield Shamrocks to a 22-7 in the 2021-22 season.

Collegiate Career

Eastern Illinois Panthers

Haffner played for Eastern Illinois Panthers in his freshman season. He averaged 7.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists a game. He was named the Freshman of the Year in OVC conference. His season high came on January 26 agianst Southern Indiana. Haffner recorded 17 points and 4 rebounds but the Panthers still lost 78-74.[3] With the Panthers, Haffner played in 27 games and started 11 times and shot 42.7% from the 3-point line.

Evansville Purple Aces

On March 23 2023, Haffner announced he would transfer to the University of Evansville[4]. His first season in Evansville, Haffner averaged 4.7 points and 1.8 rebounds.[5] His season high with Evansville was against Indiana State Sycamores on January 3, 2024. Haffner had 11 points and 5 rebounds in a loss against the Sycamores. Haffner played 27 games, but he only started 8.

In the 2024-25 season, Cam Haffner has been averaging 12.6 points, 4 rebounds and 1.6 assists a game.[6] His career high happened on November 22, 2024. Haffner had 27 points and 9 rebounds in a win against Green Bay Phoenix. That was his career in both points and rebounds.

Personal Life

Cam Haffner is the son of Scott Haffner. Scott Haffner played two seasons in the NBA and his jersey is number #3 is retired from the Evansville Purple Aces. Haffner is known to be a gym rat.[7]
