Callum Parr FRSA (born 2005) is a British youth activist, charity Chief Executive and Steering Group Representative on the UK Youth Parliament.[1]

Early life and education

Parr was born in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire in April 2005.

He obtained his GCSEs from Sutton Community Academy and A Levels in English Literature, Geography, Law, and Sociology at AS Level from Ashfield School. He now attends Oxford Brookes University where he is pursuing a degree in law after completing his college education

Career

Parr is a youth voice activist and has been the UK Youth Parliament’s national Steering Group representative for the East Midlands since 2021.[2] He previously represented Nottinghamshire as a Member of Youth Parliament, and Chair of the Young People's Board.[3]

Parr con-currently served as Youth Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire between 2020 and 2023. Parr has planned numerous national events for the UK Youth Parliament, including two visits to the House of Commons, where young people debated the issues important to them in Westminster, and the Youth Parliament’s Annual Conferences in Hull and in Leeds.[4]

In June 2019, Parr co-founded the charity A Little Bit of Sunshine UK[5] to educate the public and alleviate social pressures on young people. His work has included developing long term strategy and the creation of programmes for the charity.

Parr's work resulted in him joining the Discover Ashfield Board in 2020, a stakeholder board established for the Towns Funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities at Ashfield District Council where he has been a Board Member for the three years.[6]
