Morgan Parriott, known professionally as Call Me Karizma, is a singer, songwriter, and producer from New Prague, Minnesota (small town outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota).[1] With current music dating back to 2016, he has released a series of songs and an EP called "The Gloomy Tapes" under Arista Records before independently releasing his first major studio album "To Hell With Hollywood" in December, 2020.
Early life and Education
Parriott was born in New Prague, Minnesota. He has 1 brother. After high school, he attended community college to pursue a degree in early childhood education but school was pushed to the side as he began touring full-time. In 2020, Parriott went back to college to finish his degree.[2]
Music Career
Parriott started writing deeply personal songs at age 10,[3] and later paid his way through college through touring. During his sophomore year, his first major break was a national tour opening up for Mod Sun & blackbear. That led to him touring the US and Canada for several years before signing a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment's Arista Records under David Massey.
In 2018, he released a collaboration called "God Damnit" with international DJ, Illenium. This was premiered at Red Rocks Amphitheater.[4]
While under Arista Records, he released the sequel to his first EP "The Gloomy Tapes, Vol 1."; "The Gloomy Tapes, Vol 2."[5] His lead single "Monster (under my bed) was featured on the TV show The Purge, Season 2 Episode 7.[6]
After parting ways from Arista in 2020, Parriott announced the release of his first major studio album To Hell With Hollywood. The 14 track album released on December 10th, 2020 charted Top 5 on iTunes Alternative Charts.[7]
