California Tactical Academy is a 1500 acres developed firing range and professional training complex located in the Canyon Rd in Piru, California.^[1] It is one of the largest shooting ranges in the United States and largest shooting range in Los Angeles, with 50 shooting range bays. California Tactical Academy is a privately run training facility founded in May 2016 by Al Evan. It offers training courses for beginners, intermediate and shooter competition training courses.^[2]

The major shooting competitions are held every weekend on the range for the recognized clubs that includes The Steel Challenge Club, The Action Pistol Club, The Deadwood Boys Club, and others. The academy initially facilitates high-level gun training in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Its longest range is 1000 yards open range.^[3]

Training

California tactical academy offers a variety of training courses to train and enhance skills for beginners, intermediate, and competition training.^[4]

Beginners

Beginners training are for patrons to learn and gain expertise in holding guns and can get experience and practice in the various indoor, and on field sceneries to judge the wind and its effect on bullet impact. Beginners courses includes Bore Sight & Zero Course, Muzzleloaders Shooting Experience, CCW Certification and Renewal, Beginner Shooting Experience for Two People, Special Forces Handgun Concepts Level 1, Beginner Handgun Course Lvl 1, Women Only Beginner Handgun Course and Special Forces Handgun Concepts Level 2.

Intermediate

Intermediate training includes specialization in handgun, the short, tactical, defensive and affordable weapon that can be held with one hand. This makes a handgun the most popular option in youth to have for their safety. These programs are tailored to enhance skills and practise various day to day scenarios including tactically searching your home, defensive shooting and others. Intermediate programs include Special Forces Handgun Mastery Level 1, Women Only Advanced Handgun Course, Handgun Accuracy: Advanced Comprehension with Kawa Mawlayee, and Special Forces Handgun Mastery Level 2.

Shooter Competition Training Courses

These are advanced courses designed to train professionals, shooters, and security officials. These courses include Shooting Competitions Introductory Course, 2-day World-Class Pistol Skills Training With World Champion Robert Vogel and The Fundamentals of Fast with Frank Proctor.
