Caeleste is a supplier of custom designed CMOS image sensors with its offices in Mechelen, Belgium. Its activities include custom design, manufacture, assembly and characterization of image sensors.[1][2]

History

The company was founded on 18 December 2006 by Bart Dierickx and Patrick Henckes in Edegem (Belgium) then later moved to Berchem, Antwerp, and in 2015 moved to the present offices in Mechelen.

Activities

The company's activities are dedicated to the design of image sensors and Readout integrated circuits (ROIC) for application domains as space missions, scientific imaging, medical imaging and several industrial niches. The company has participated in collaborations with ESA to develop High-dynamic-range_imaging technology in space.[3] On January 7, 2020 Paradromics published a press release about a novel mixed-signal sensor technology in collaboration with Caeleste.[4] The sensor enables high data rate neural recordings with lower power consumption than conventional digital readouts.
