Dr. C. Anandarama Upadhya.[1](born 14th Jan 1952), Doctor of Philosophy, is a Kannada scholar, critic and an author living in Karnataka. Upadhya was born to Kaveramma and Narayana Upadhya in Chitrapdy, Udupi district. He recieved his Doctor of Philosophy from Osmania University[2][3] on his work on Yakshagana Mahabharatha Prasangagalu[4][2]. After working as a lecturer for more than a decade, he joined Karnataka Bank in the year 1977 and worked there for 34 years and retired as Assistant General Manager[5][2] in the year 2012.

He holds the first PhD in the field of Yakshagana in Kannada.[6][2]
