Burcu Kıratlı (Urdu: بَرجُوکِراتلّ) (born 23 July 1989) is a Turkish actress and model.[1] She is known for her roles in Peri Masali, Diriliş: Ertuğrul & Aşk ve Mavi. She earned wide critical praise for her character Peri in 2013 hit Romantic tragedy film Peri Masali which was an instant commercial success & noted as one of her best performances also made her win Best New Actress Award at Digital Media Awards in 2015.[2] She earned international fame for her portrayal of Gökçe Hatun in the historical adventure television series Diriliş: Ertuğrul & received Best Actress Award by the Ankara Ministry of Youth and Sports & was also awarded the Best Actress of the Year Award by the votes received from the poll opened by the Ministry.[3][4] The hit drama series Aşk ve Mavi marked a significant turning point in Burcu's career, earning her critics praise and Best Female Drama Actress of the Year at The Golden Almond Awards 2017. She later won the award for Tv Series Actress of the Year at the 5th Golden Palm Awards in 2018.[5]

Career

Burcu completed her primary school education at Ata College, her secondary school education at BJK College, and her high school education at Bebek Yeni Yıldız College.She graduated from Yeditepe University, Faculty of Communication, Visual Communication Design with a bachelor's degree, and performed in many theatres plays and short movie projects while she was studying. She took Actor Studio education at Müjdat Gezen Art Academy and then worked here as a permanent actress for 2 years. She started her acting career with the theatre plays "Mustafa Kemal'im" and "Gözlerimi Kaparim Vazifemi Yaparim", then featured in the movies "Su ve Ates", "Peri Masali", "Bizim Hikaye" and in the Tv series "Elde Var Hayat" and Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Lastly, she is starred in the Tv series "Ask ve Mavi" on the role of "Mavi" on the ATV Channel.

  • 2010 - 2012 She debuted on the tv screen with the character of Yağmur in the series titled Elde Var Hayat & received great acclaim with his acting performance. This series broadcasted on TRT 1 screens and lasted 2 seasons.[6]The show received the best youth series award in 2011.
  • 2013 She made her first appearance in the film with the character of Helin in the movie Su and Ateş, which was written and directed by Özcan Deniz.
  • 2014 She played the character of Peri in the movie Peri Masali, Because of her role in this movie, it was the agenda that her hair was scrapped. The film gained great critical success & noted as one of her best performances proved to be Burcu's first success earning her Best New Actress of the Year award at Digital Turkish Traditional Award Ceremony (Türk Geleneksel Ödül Töreni) in 2015. The film is directed & produced by Biray Dalkıran. Returning to the TV screens after this film project, Burcu has appeared on the TRT 1 screen since December 10, 2014, and appeared before the audience with the character Gökçe in the series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, aired on TRT 1 screen and she was part of 2 seasons.[7] For this role she received Best Actress Award by the Ankara Ministry of Youth and Sports & was also awarded the Best Actress of the Year award as a result of the votes received from the poll opened by the Ministry. Currently, Diriliş: Ertuğrul show is airing in Pakistan National Channel PTV & show's success skyrocketed the entire cast including Burcu fame.
  • 2015 While her TV career continued, she also played the lead character of Elif in the movie called Bizim Hikaye Directed by Yasin Uslu.
  • 2016-2018 She starred in drama series Aşk ve Mavi & played the lead character of Mavi, earning critical praise and won Female Drama Actress of the Year award at Datça Golden Almond Awards 2017 & Golden Palm award for Female Series Player of the Year in 2018.[8] The show also won the best director & best producer award at Golden Palm awards. The hit show has three seasons successful run on the ATV channel.

Personal life

Burcu Kiratli was born on 23 July 1989 in a Turkish family Gül Erçetingöz(mother) Tuncay Kıratlı(father). Brucu married popular Turkish singer Sinan Akçıl in Turkish Consulate in Holland, Amsterdam on 24 December 2018 with a simple marriage ceremony.[9][10]
