Buggyra BUGGYRA is a registered trademark originating in 1969. The father of the trademark was the Czech automobile designer, constructor and racing pilot Václav Král (1936 – 2005).[1][2][3]

1969–1999

In the Communist era Václav Král presented various trademarked projects under the Baghira brand, such as the Tatra Baghira racing special, or the Spider model, developed in cooperation with the Škoda Mladá Boleslav automotive factory. In 1993 Václav Král met Martin Koloc, at that time newcomer to the European Race Truck Championships. The first stage of their cooperation culminated in 1997 by their jointly developed Praga model, with which Martin Koloc ranked second in the European Race Truck Championship.[4][5]

2000–2010

In 2000 Václav Král placed his trademark and its further development in the hands of Martin Koloc. As a consequence of patent protection and trademark registration Václav Král´s Baghira (inspired by the black puma of Rudyard Kipling´s Jungle Book) changed to BUGGYRA and the trademark was registered by the Ryss & Lynx Investment Group. The modified trademark gave name to the newly established racing team called BUGGYRA International Racing System, registered with the Automotive Club of the Czech Republic. In 2001 the BUGGYRA IRS team became the first purely private participant in the European Truck Racing Cup in the royal category then called Super Race Truck. In addition to the racing specials MK01 and two MK02 a special for speed records was developed, with which in spring 2004 David Vršecký overcame the race truck world speed records for 1 km, driving at the average speed of 281,723 kph, in Dubai, UAE. Those were the last racing specials which Václav Král was personally involved in. The story of the team which, in the course of the first decade of its existence, won five individual European Champion titles, celebrated three victories in the Constructors´ Cup, and became holder of two world speed records, attracted the Discovery Channel TV station. Its team made a documentary in 2010 titled Mega World Czech Republic, where, in addition to the Prague Castle, the Pilsner Urquell or the Semtex explosives, adequate time was also granted to the BUGGYRA brand.[6][7]

2011–2019

In 2011, through the efforts of its ambassadors, the pilot and constructor David Vršecký and the racing engineer Robin Dolejš, BUGGYRA, for the first time in its history, entered the world of the globally most famous long-distance race – the Dakar Rally. In 2014 the team debuted in the race under the competitor licence, registered with the Automotive Club of the Czech Republic and named Tatra BUGGYRA Racing, with one racing special, TATRA 815 BUGGYRA. After that the team won the tender of the automobile factory Tatra Trucks, a.s. for official factory support in the race. Since 2014 the team have regularly appeared in the famous rally, achieving two stage victories. In 2017 the team also participated in the Russian – Chinese Silk Way Rally, where Martin Kolomý won three stages. In 2017 the BUGGYRA IRS team brought up another European Circuit Race Truck Champion after Gerd Körber, Markus Bösiger and David Vršecký: Adam Lacko. In 2014 BUGGYRA extended the scope of its activities with China, where David Vršecký won three Champion titles with TATRA BUGGYRA and, later BUGGYRA ZERO constructed by Vršecký himself, in the seasons 2016-2018. In 2019 further extension of BUGGYRA activities encompassed circuit racing of the luxury brand Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo in cooperation with the team of Mičánek Motorsport Club. Since 2018 the BUGGYRA brand has no longer been solely about racing. As it entered the world of crypto currencies with its BUGGYRA Coin Zero or in the field of mobile applications with B-CHAT.[8][9][10]
