Buddy Morsello (born August 15, 1983) is an American singer, songwriter, record artist, and fine artist known for his work that serves as a medium for self-expression and introspection.[1] He debuted with the single “I Followed You" in 2023 and has since then performed 33 singles, 5 albums, and EPs under his name, all of which have received critical acclaim and resonated with global audiences.[2][3]

Early life and education

Morsello was born and raised in Wyandotte, Michigan, where he played hockey during his high school years. From a young age, Morsello was interested in music, particularly Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and artists such as Nirvana and Luther Vandross.

At 18, Morsello began painting album covers of musical artists and decided to further his studies in fine arts. Upon receiving the graduate school scholarship, he enrolled at Wayne State University to pursue a bachelor’s and master’s in fine arts in painting, graduating in 2013.

Career

Morsello started his career as an art professor at Oakland Community College.[4][5]

As an abstract painter, Morsello is known for his oil paintings that feature bold colors with black-and-white contrasts. His artwork incorporates symmetrical lines and curves with disconnected visuals. Notably, much of his work draws inspiration from real locations, typically commencing with a photograph or sketch as the foundation. Morsello was featured on Metro Arts Detroit Episode 208, where he did live painting during the interview.[6]

Morsello debuted in 2023 with the release of the single “I Followed You.” As a recording artist, singer, and songwriter, his musical work represents the core of self-expression and introspection.[7] His artistic journey is a personal exploration of relatable emotions and experiences. Within a year, he has over 33 singles, 3 albums, and 2 EPs to his credit. Notable singles include “Time Runner,” “Space Battle,” “Can’t Stop Myself,” “The Flame,” and “In My Dream." All of his music is released under the label Apotheosis.[8][9]

Morsello also owns and operates a music and art studio, Buddy Morsello Music, where he serves as a recording artist and content coordinator.[10] In addition to composing and singing songs, he designs album covers and creative content for social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.[11]
