Bryan Edward Frist (born April 29, 1987) is an American entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is the CEO & Co-Founder of Yoshi Mobility and the Managing Partner & Founder of Friale Ventures, an early stage investment firm.[1][2] Frist is the son of former United States Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, grandson of HCA Healthcare founder Thomas F. Frist, Sr., and nephew of billionaire Thomas F. Frist, Jr.[3]
Early Life
Frist was born in Nashville, Tennessee.[3] In 1994, his father, Bill Frist, was elected to the United States Senate and the family moved to Washington, DC where Frist attended St. Albans School.[4] After high school, Frist attended Princeton University where he served as a Class Day chair.[5] Later, he attended Harvard Business School, graduating with honors.[6][7]
Career
Frist is the CEO & Co-Founder of Yoshi Mobility, a Y Combinator-backed startup that has raised over $60 million from General Motors, ExxonMobil, and Bridgestone.[8][9][10] In March 2024, the company expanded its portfolio and acquired a mobile automotive services company specializing in tire care and replacement, preventative maintenance, multipoint inspections and eco-friendly washes.[11] In April 2024, it was reported that Yoshi Mobility's valuation topped $200 million.[12]
In October 2021, Frist was listed as one of the winners of the Nashville American City Business Journals|Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award.[13] In December 2021, he was named a winner of the Business Journal's Most Admired CEOs.[14] That same year, the Nashville Post wrote a profile piece on Frist in its "You Should Know" series.[15]
Previously, he served as a Board Member of PullRequest, the pioneer of code-review-as-a-service. The company was acquired by HackerOne in April 2022.[16] Frist also served as Chief Strategy Officer for China Health Care Corporation, which he launched with his uncle Thomas Frist, Jr. and cousin-in-law Charles Elcan. Bain Capital acquired controlling interest in the company in 2017.[17]
Personal Life
Frist resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, three kids, and two dogs.[18] The Frist family has long been synonymous with charitable giving and contribute to causes through a family foundation.[19] They are supporters of the Frist Art Museum and Ensworth School.[20][21][22] In October 2024, the Frists hosted a fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at their home, raising $1.8 million from executives, creators, and culinary icons with performances by Lady A, ERNEST and HARDY.[23]
